Fire Lodging Options:
For Short-Term Evacuees:
• TDY Housing has created an online database of most available hotels and other lodging providers within a 30-mile radius of Sierra Vista/FortHuachuca. Most homeowner’s and renter’s insurance policies will pay for up to two weeks lodging expenses if the insured person lives within a mandatory evacuation area. Evacuees should check with their insurance agent to confirm. Evacuees can access the lodging database at www.MonumentFire.org and clicking on the Lodging menu option.
For Long-Term Displaced Insured:
• For those whose homes have been destroyed by the fire, TDY Housing and other providers have fully furnished apartments, condos, townhouses, and single-family homes available while their own homes are being rebuilt. TDY Housing will work with their insurance company to minimize or eliminate out of pocket expenses. Long-term displaced insured should visit www.MonumentFire.org and click on the Displaced Insured menu option.
For Rental Property Owners/Mangers:
• If you have a spare bedroom, guest house, RV, furnished or unfurnished rental property you would like to make available to our neighbors who have been displaced by the fire and/or TDY personnel, contact Michael J. Benson via e-mail at mike@goTDY.com to discuss options. Please provide your contact information, type of accommodations available, and address of the accommodations.
